Aurum is designed by award-winning Icelandic jewellery designer Guðbjörg Kristín Ingvarsdótir in the lively city centre of Reykjavík.
Aurum’s jewellery pieces are notable for their fine detail and delicate nuances. The inspiration for their shapes is taken largely from Icelandic nature characterised by movement, finesse and balance.
Guðbjörg Kr. Ingvarsdóttir completed her master craftsman exam in goldsmithing at Reykjavík Technical College in 1994, subsequently returning to Copenhagen to study jewellery design at the Institute for Precious Metals. In 1999 she founded the design firm Aurum and since then has made a name for herself with her distinctive and sophisticated style. Guðbjörg’s jewellery designs have attracted much attention worldwide and she has taken part in many international design exhibitions acheiving first prize at Spirit of the North in St. Petersburg in 2000. Her work also received the DV Cultural Award in Reykjavík for art design in 2002 and the Icelandic Visual Arts Award for design in 2008.
