Justin Duance

"the contrast between the textures of the land and sea"

The jewellery that Justin produces shows the contrast between the textures of the land and sea. He does this by combining wood with precious metals to give the piece an elemental feel, or by texturing the metal in a way that creates a feeling of organic movement. Their ethos is to try and be as environmentally friendly as possible with up to 95% of the metal they use is recycled or Fairtrade. The beautiful selection of woods used in their inlayed rings has often had a life of its own before becoming a ring. Materials are sourced from old boats, furniture or local tree surgeons and Cornish orchards. This culminates in a collection of contemporary jewellery, which changes subtly with wear in much the same way as the sea shapes the coastlines of Cornwall.
