"Art is Man's only possible salvation"
Isabel Sabato grew up in a creative family of musicians, poets and artists in Buenos Aires. Her elder sister Marina, a great painter was her biggest influence. As well as educating the young Isabel in conceptual and abstract art and the power of the diverse palette she also allowed her to borrow her jewellery. When pieces got damaged in play the little girl promised to grow up to be a jeweller and mend her sister’s broken jewels.
Encouraged to think freely and with a strong sense of justice Isabel gained a law degree in her home city before coming to London to study for an Msc. Unable to resist her artistic urges, it was whilst in London that she felt the need to pursue her earliest love of jewellery and enrolled at Central Saint Martins School of Art.
The resulting collection, "SI, Sabato Isabel" is a mixture of recycled rubber materials and expressionistic flair creating an explosion of colour.
By being both reversible and flexible they are Isabel’s own wearable reminder of the freedom and joy to be found in art.
