Kokkino

"rhythm and cadence by repetition of a simple form"

Melanie Ankers is the talented jeweller behind Kokkino. Her love of colour and her time spent in Greece working with silver and enamels led her to choose the name Kokkino, meaning ‘red’ in Greek. The designer makes use of sterling silver, 22ct gold plating, oxidisation and vitreous enamels to produce a sophisticated colour palette and range of surface textures.

“Increasingly I'm becoming fascinated with the rhythm and cadence given to a piece by repetition of a simple form, and how colour can flow through a piece and transform it utterly.” The pieces are incredibly tactile and often incorporate mobile elements, allowing the wearer to interact with the jewellery and bring it to life.
