Disa Allsopp
I am very interested in ancient jewellery like the Egyptians, Etrucians and many ancient civilisations that worked in metal. I hope my jewellery has that quality. This jewellery is mainly 18ct gold and sterling silver. Finishes used are oxidised silver, hammered and forged gold and silver.
I leave the metal in its natural state using techniques. Such as Forging , reticulation patination and hammering. I do sketch a lot and try to keep the same freeness in the jewellery.
I have used some precious and semi precious stones such as garnets, tourmalines, diamonds for their colour. The range of jewellery includes necklaces, rings, earrings, brooches, and bracelets.
